Finding a winning product is the single biggest lever in e-commerce. Get this right, and everything downstream — ads, branding, fulfilment — becomes dramatically easier. Here's the framework our students use.
Start with demand, not products
Most beginners fall in love with a product before checking if anyone wants it. Flip that. Begin by identifying categories with proven, growing demand, then find specific products inside them. Demand removes the hardest part of the equation: convincing people they have a problem.
The three filters that matter
Before committing to any product, run it through three quick checks:
- Margin: Can you sell at 2.5–3x your landed cost and still be competitive?
- Differentiation: Is there an angle, bundle or audience nobody else is serving well?
- Logistics: Is it light, durable and unlikely to break in transit or attract heavy returns?
Validate before you scale
Never bet your full budget on a hunch. Launch small, send a controlled amount of traffic, and let the numbers talk. A product that converts cold traffic profitably is worth ten products you merely think will sell.
Test fast, kill fast, scale what survives. The market is the only opinion that pays.
Putting it together
Winning products aren't found by luck — they're found by a repeatable process. Identify demand, apply your filters, validate with real spend, then double down on what works. Inside our courses we walk through this live, with tools and templates that cut your research time in half.
